Jen Mossefin, LCSW, LCAS

I have a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from UNC- Chapel Hill with a special focus on adult mental health and substance abuse. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, (LCSW) and Licenced Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS). I have experience working with individuals facing a variety of issues. Some of the areas that I have experience with are Substance Use Disorders, Eating Disorders, Anxiety, Borderline Personality Disorder, Mood Disorders, Self-Worth Issues, Trauma and Coping Skills. My therapeutic philosophy includes an integrated approach, using mindfulness, working with the body/mind connection, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).

Struggling with self-criticism, a life out-of-balance, or the past taking up too much of your present can feel lonely. Often coping strategies that help us survive can develop into problems themselves; figuring out the best way forward can feel overwhelming. I am honored to work alongside individuals as they discover their inner strengths, self-worth and develop new, helpful strategies to experience and navigate life. I work to foster self-compassion and self-worth in my practice.

I am LGBTQ+ and incorporate feminist theory and mindfulness into my work. I am fully certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a treatment modality aimed at resolving past traumas and negative beliefs of self.
